Only 8 days after landing in the Holy land, we have accomplished the following (some to be detailed in the coming days):
- Arrived in our apartment
- Opened Bank accounts
- Registered for health insurance
- Got a regular phone line
- Went on a really long journey (3 bus stations, 7 buses, one tremp) to for a 20 minute visit at our shippers agent to meet with the customs guy
- Got a new dude chashmal (electric water boiler) – we can now take showers longer than four minutes!
- Got hooked up with a tank of gas so that we can cook things on the two-burner stove top lent to us by the yishuv
- Got an ADSL Internet connection
So, sach hakol I am back online. I have hundreds of emails, thousands of blog posts to read, and a few dozen blog posts to write, hours of learning to do, and a bunch of other things in the coming weeks (lift is arriving on Sunday, unpack, start working again, get an Israeli drivers license, buy a car, go to Ikea, get appliances hooked up, etc). But things are going pretty well over here…

So exciting! Great hearing about how much you’ve accomplished so quickly…..hard to believe that will be us in 6 months or so! Does the time whiz by or what??? Keep the narrative coming, and don’t forget to toss in some advice while you’re at it!
