The smell of Shabbat is in the air

Beautiful day here…around 70 degrees and Sunny. Our first full Shabbat guests in Israel (ie: sleeping here and eating all meals here) are coming in an hour…who also happen to be my parents and sister…so things are a little bit hectic great (food is mostly cooked, chulent up, dishes clean and floor kind of sponge’ad).

Adina: Baby clothes are so nasty!
Yaakov: Don’t you mean to say that baby clothes with doodee on them are nasty?
Adina: Oh yeah. That’s what I meant. Other than that they are really cute.

Just wanted to write a short post about MB’s new outfits….Whenever he wears socks, they get kicked off. Often within minutes. On two separate occasions (one in Brookline and one recently here), on a Friday night walk back home from someone’s meal, we look down at our sweet little guy, all bundled up in the cold [...]

If you don’t know what happened in Amona last week, please refer to any news source that covers the goings-on in Israel.
Many bloggers in the Jewish blogging world have been commenting on this. I haven’t written anything so far because I am still going through my own thoughts on the issue. Here is what some [...]

I received this story via email (I think I heard it at an NCSY Shabbaton a number of years ago). I do not know who the author was. Still, it is worth sharing and reading at least once:
What would you do? You make the choice! Don’t look for a punch line; there isn’t one! Read [...]
